Situated in the heart of historic Rehavia, Ben Maimon is a boutique six-story building that includes two apartments and two duplexes, sitting above two underground levels with parking and storage.

The building’s front façade is preserved and restored as a homage to the city’s architectural heritage, while the rest of the structure is newly built with a contemporary vision. The architectural language draws direct inspiration from the historic details of the original building—most notably, the traditional stone mashrabiya, a perforated stone screen that allows light and air to pass through while maintaining privacy.

In this project, the mashrabiya is reinterpreted with a modern sensibility: serving both as a climatic response and a cultural gesture. The design strikes a thoughtful balance between tradition and innovation, merging modern materials and detailing with the city’s long-standing legal requirement for Jerusalem stone cladding.

Ben Maimon is a building deeply rooted in the urban memory of the city—yet firmly oriented toward the future, with a restrained, timeless elegance.
